And WE can prove it! Just look at these happy faces. Director Jennifer Eifert has started a program called Art Start designed especially for the pre-schoolers. Here the wee ones are working with the wild life theme–note the posters on the well and their birdhouses! What cuties!
Art Start is on the second Wednesday of each month from 10-11 a.m. Art projects are really important to a child’s development in imagination and creativity. There is no charge–the supplies are provided. Also Kelly’s Kids free activity booth at the Wetumpka Community Markets will be starting soon.
Kids are welcome any time, though. In our new gallery, there is a room set aside for children with supplies always available and even scavenger hunts, which they adore (complete with little prizes!) In fact, for Morning Sketch last week, we welcomed a bunch of young artists! They were fascinated by the diving helmets, but stopped to pose for a picture!
Speaking of wee ones, this little one plunged into The Kelly’s glass wall and was stunned. After resting, dazed, for a while in Jennifer’s hand, he was able to lick up some sugar water prepared by intern Rachel and fed by Alyssa, the Registrar. He finally opened his eyes, wiggled a bit and took off flying, to everyone’s relief! We love our wildlife!!
