Inside or Outside: Arts/Crafts or Plein Air?

A lot is happening this weekend! For those of you interested in buying arts and crafts, you’ll find several of our Kelly Art Associates at the CHARIS CRAFT SHOW at the Wetumpka Civic Center, April 19-20. About 30 artists/crafters will have booths.

Libby Christensen always has a selection of quilts and photos, and this year, some new embroidered jewelry.

Cheryl Teel makes pour-painted jewelry, vases, etc., and usually offers some of her art prints. Marty Woodall has watercolors, crafts and sometimes jewelry as well. Kelly members Mit and Wanda Fontaine have jars of homemade honey and honey creams by Mat’s very own bees, as well as his photos and her other crafts and jewelry.

Other booths feature wreaths, linens, wood, crochet, canned food, stuffed animals, toys, and was jewelry mentioned? Come bedeck yourself. Bring food or $ donation to the Elmore County Food Bank for admission. This is a real community outreach, and the Charis gift donates all its profits to regional charities.

ALSO this weekend, on Saturday, April 20, The Kelly’s second Plein Air event is scheduled. Artists and amateurs alike, join The Kelly group outside for a day of “En Plein Air” (French), or “the act of painting outdoors.” There’s no membership required. This Plein Air Day will happen at Russell Lands by Lake Martin. More information to come–watch for an email with details.
