Sawdusted and Rusted

What a wonderful reception! A really big crowd gathered to meet outstanding woodworking artists Dale Lewis, David Foote, and Wetumpka’s own master carver Carol Jean Singleton as well as the well-known scrap metal artist Charlie Lucas. The Kelly’s own Art Associates also contributed to the variety of wooden, kudzu, black iron and scrap metal pieces–also some photos and paintings/pastels of rust and even a quilt with wood and metal fabrics. If you haven’t yet seen this exhibit, do come! Beat the crowds because many of the pieces have already sold, including David Foote’s $2400 blue bird! However, if you missed the reception, you missed chomping on nuts and bolts, chocolate chip cookies served from a cast iron pan, and “Sawdust” Cookies with dust made from pork rinds. New Yorkers may believe they have the best receptions, but they don’t know what they’re missing when we party with Kelly!
