Exhibition Guidelines & Details
Submitting Artwork for Review:
- There is no fee to submit or enter.
- Each exhibit will have a different theme, and we ask all entries to be related to that theme. Unless specified otherwise, our exhibition opportunities do not have expectations for medium, style, or techniques.
- Oftentimes, we receive more entries than we have space. So we will review all submissions and then contact back with how many/which pieces we wish to accept for the exhibition’s duration.
- Exhibition entries are open to professionals and amateurs alike. Any minors (19 years and younger) who wish to enter must provide proof of parental consent.
- We accept artworks from all over the United States, but priority will be given to Alabama artists and artists of the Southeast.
- Absolutely no AI art is allowed, no exceptions.
- You may submit artworks that are for display only as well as artworks for sale.
Expectations during a Show
- All 2D artworks must be gallery-wrapped or framed, and 2D artworks must have galley wire installed in order to be accepted.
- Please allow for fifteen (15) minutes during the Art Take In process. We will require you fill out paperwork and provide you with labels to attach the wire on your artwork (unless restricted by medium).
- We ask all accepted artworks to remain in our care during the entirety of the exhibition’s duration. However, we also understand that things happen, so you may contact us if you wish to request an exemption. We are happy to work with your schedule.
- After an exhibition has ended, please be sure to arrange to pick up your art upon the Pick-Up dates. We have limited storage, so we require that you contact us regarding exemption if the dates are not possible for you. We’re happy to work with your schedule. But please note that failure to communicate with us and remove artwork within ninety (90) days of the exhibition’s pick-up date will result in the artwork being considered a donation to The Kelly.
COMMISSION:
- The Kelly collects a 25% donation commission for each artwork that is sold. The Kelly handles sales tax and adds a 3% credit/debit surcharge to the buyer (if applicable), so the artist is remit a true 75% of their artwork’s sale. Please account for this 25% in your pricing.

April 3rd by Noon
April 11th & 12th
Every year, The Kelly puts on a special art sales event called “4×6 Day.” On this day, any artist may submit their 4″ x 6″ artworks that we’ll advertise on sale for $46! It’s a great way to limber up your artistic muscles, and a great way for art appreciators to find new artworks that they might not otherwise have space to accommodate.
This year, April 6th falls on a Sunday, so we will be celebrating 4×6 Day a little early on April 4th & 5th!
Guidelines:
Each artist may bring up to ten (10) artworks. We do not require frames or gallery wire. Please bring your artworks on or before April 3rd by Noon. Just fill out the artwork information form and drop it off at The Kelly alongside your artwork. We’ll take care of the rest!
