Louise Smith Everton was a prize-winning artist, diligent art organizer, and dear friend of many of the Dixie Art Colony artists, including our namesake John Kelly Fitzpatrick. She was known for painting with the greatest of ease and for encouraging her fellow and newcomer artists alike. She was an active member of many art organizations, such as the Alabama Art League, the Watercolor Society of Alabama, the Southern States Art League, the Birmingham Museum of Art, and of course, the Dixie Art Colony.
Come join us for a retrospective exhibition honoring her artistic career with her paintings and handwritten letters that her son, Angus Everton, generously loaned to The Kelly.
