Wetumpka is the site of the greatest natural disaster to ever hit Alabama, a large meter strike. It created an almost five-mile wide crater that is still visible near the city.
Join the Wetumpka Impact Crater Commission for “Crater Talk” at 10a.m. the first Saturday of each month at The Kelly Fitzpatrick Memorial Gallery. Each month speakers will share information about the crater and help residents learn more about this important historic event.
