The River Region Art Summit 2024 on Jan. 27. The Kelly was absolutely crammed with booths and visitors interested in art opportunities.
Among those represented were The Alabama State Council on the Arts, Alabama Arts Alliance, Montgomery Art Center, The King’s Canvas, Millbrook Art Mill, Wetumpka Crater and Visitors Center, Pike Road Art Center, Prattauga Art Guild, Montgomery Art Guild, Sunshine and Pixie Dust, Amp Up Arts, and Tallapoosa School of Art. Doesn’t it take your breath away just to list a few? What a wonderfully rich art community we are part of! And how thrilling to have enough space to comfortably host them.
There were many booths with eagerly sought information.
Then Speaker Amy Jenkins with the Alabama State Council of the Arts discussed $500 art fellowship opportunities and how to apply, which proved extremely interesting and Donna Russell with Alabama Arts Alliance spoke about art opportunities throughout Alabama.
Some of the guests had never visited The Kelly, so it was not only inspirational for all, but a true novel experience for some. Our Director Jennifer Eifert, a member of the Arts Council, was very happy to have such a great turn-out.
