On January 25th, we’re hosting a great opportunity for novice and experienced artists alike! Artists from all over are invited to learn about art opportunities available within our River Region.  Come visit local and regional art organizations and learn about what opportunities they provide to artists like you. We’ll also have guest speakers talking about art exhibitions and shows, fellowship opportunities, art programs and classes, and everything else an artist might want to know!

Everyone is encouraged to stay as long as they’d like or come-and-go as you please. We will have set times for guest speakers, but otherwise, the art organizations will have booths set up for the entirety of the event.

Speaker Amy Jenkins with the Alabama State Council on the Arts will discuss art grant and fellowship opportunities and how to apply.

Alabama State Council

Alabama State Council on the Arts

The mission of the Alabama State Council on the Arts is to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality for all Alabamians by providing support for the state’s diverse and rich artistic resources.

Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts

The MMFA has been a staple of River Region (and beyond!) art since Kelly Fitzpatrick and his fellow artists founded it. They are thriving with exhibitions, events, and artistic opportunities!

Armory Learning Arts Center

The Armory is an Art Deco-style, 34,406 square foot, one-time U.S. National Guard Armory! Today’s Armory houses the City of Montgomery’s community arts center, offering comprehensive visual art, dance, and music instruction.

Elmore County Art Guild

The Guild was formed in 1985 by a devoted group of volunteers that wanted to share their unique skills and talents, meet people with similar interests and passions, plus help strengthen local community arts.

Montgomery Art Guild

The Montgomery Art Guild (MAG) is the longest standing, non-profit arts organization in the Montgomery Region. Join them for art exhibitions and art programs!

Town of Pike Road Arts Council

The Pike Road Arts Council is a volunteer-led committee whose mission is to engage citizens with unique gifts in the fine arts in sharing their talents to bring a greater overall appreciation of the arts to the Town of Pike Road & surrounding communities.

Prattauga Art Guild

The PAG is a volunteer organization of artists and volunteers. Through the various exhibits and programs, the PAG brings fine arts and art education to our city and surrounding communities.

Millbrook Art Mill

The Art Mill houses an art studio, music studio, and gallery space for local artists, and is a place for local creatives to take and teach classes, workshops, and summer camps. They operate under the City of Millbrook’s Cultural Arts & Special Events Department.

Sunshine and Pixie Dust

Located in the Central area of Wetumpka, Sunshine and Pixie Dust offers arts and crafts classes. They just added Acrylic Techniques Classes to their list of classes, taught by local artists.

SAC's Gallery

SAC’s is headquartered in the capital city of Montgomery, Alabama. Our art gallery, better known as SAC’s Gallery, affords local artisans the opportunity to display, promote and sell their original works of art in the River Region and throughout central Alabama.

Tallapoosa School of Art

Tallapoosa School of Art is located near Dadeville, nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Their workshops include plein air oil, pastel, and watercolor painting, and studio painting lessons taught by some of the country’s finest teachers and artists.

Alisa Beck Art

Alabama artist Alisa Beck is an incredibly talented artist and art instructor, who “aims to evoke an emotional resonance with Southern experiences.” She often leads classes with many local art organizations.

Matted Memories & More, LLC

Need specialty framing? Having 25 years of experience, we recognize the importance of the conservation and preservation of artifacts. Utilizing CMC/CAD and a fully equipped woodshop gives the flexibility to create unique designs.

The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts

The mission of the Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts is to engage, inspire, and educate artists and the public at large by promoting local and regional visual arts through the collection, recognition, documentation, and the publication of relevant works of American art.
