The Kelly Fitzpatrick Center for the Arts is delighted to announce that we have received $32,200 Creative Places Arts Facilities grant from Alabama State Council on the Arts to fund the Green Space project. You may have noticed the construction happening behind our building—we are cleaning up, revamping, and beautifying the scenic view right outside!
The Creative Places Arts Facilities program strengthens Alabama’s creative economy by providing grants for the construction, renovation, restoration, or enhancement of arts facilities across the state. Public funding, through a special appropriation from the Alabama State Legislature, makes these grants possible and is essential for fostering arts, culture, and community growth.
With these funds, The Kelly is renovating and expanding the space to create a seated garden where everyone can visit and enjoy the beatific scenery of Wetumpka and the Coosa River. Events, programs, and classes will soon be able to spill over from our gallery walls into the Green Space’s seated garden.

This grant, awarded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts, enables us to reach new audiences, foster community development, and demonstrate the importance of arts as a key component for quality of life in Alabama.
A huge and heartfelt Thank You to the Alabama State Council on the Arts for supporting this project!
