Kids’ Crafts Return to the Market

On Wetumpka First Friday Market, The Kelly provides a free craft table for the kids. It opened again this month.

How appropriate that we close the fantastically creative Sawdust and Rust (wood and metal) exhibit with a craft tribute for the kids to do. Charlie Lucas told us we should make art every day and just use what we can find and our imaginations. The kids are so good at doing this. Here is a group who were all making different faces on pieces of wood using everything from washers to pipe cleaners for the faces.

Carol Hickman usually heads up this effort, but this month Lynda Fain and E’lissa Richey took charge. It always takes a little time to round up supplies and set up a table, but it’s well worth it to see the happy faces and spread a love for art.
