Did you know that our curator Jennifer Eifert moonlights as a Boy Scout leader? That sometimes happens when you raise two boys. Her connections in the scouting world have brought scouting to The Kelly.
It really is not as strange as it sounds because our Native American exhibit was the perfect learning lab for badges. One day about 25-30 young scouts turned up. After each small group got a full tour, they went to “stations” to write reports, bead, make pottery, and even do a little cooking of native vegetables in the kitchen. It was a busy place.
The Kelly is reaching out more and more to young people all over the community. The Native American exhibit was a huge hit with them (and with many of the parents as well). It sparked a lot of interest to kids and adults alike.
