…enjoying The Kelly
They have to enjoy it if they get out of school, right?
In addition to our regular Art Start and Kelly’s Kid free art classes, the month of February is dedicated to entertaining 800 4th graders studying Black History.
First, they go by the Black History Museum where there are ladies hand-quilting; then the buses come to The Kelly Art Center. Here they get to see some of Libby Christensen’s quilts.

After being inspired to “quilt,” each child paints a small quilt block, which will later be combined into a huge paper quilt! When you can’t sew, punt! They love the interaction of art, quilting and history!
