Judy Walton has taken the knowledge and skills she has learned from a successful career in photography and now applies them to her work as an artist. Growing up in southern Alabama she was drawn to the beauty of animals , landscapes and people and used her first camera to capture many candid images. Judy began her photography career in 1977 and upon her marriage to a military careerist moved several times, allowing her to start and manage successful studios in Los Angeles, Atlanta and Montgomery. She decided to retire from photography in 2007 to devote her time to oil painting . As a self taught artist , she favors the post Impressionism style of oil painting. She enjoys en plein aire painting and her favorite subjects are landscapes and beach scenes. She was owner n operator of a studio and art gallery from 2014-2016 and currently conducts shows of her work twice a year. Judy has recently began Live Event Painting as a way to capture special occasions on canvas. Judy resides in Montgomery, Al with her husband and 4 cats.
