Our November 5 Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival was absolutely the best ever…well, the only ever…but still the best. Thanks to fabulous support from the Smoot-Harris family and many other sponsors; the hard work of our Kelly Board, our Executive Director Jennifer Eifert, her assistant Alyssa Spaulding; and the willing hands of over 50 volunteers, everything went off without a hitch, despite a little rainfall, which we won’t blame the deity for as it came quite late in the afternoon. Get this! Along with all the vendors, musicians, demonstrators, and members, we officially had 5200 visitors!
Not only that, but the Kelly Gallery was thrilled to make over $20,000 of sales during the Wildlife week alone (especially thanks to Dirk Walker and Sue Key, who both sold multiple paintings). It was the best-ever sales month, which is particularly important now as we are raising funds to renovate our new building (near Coaches Corner). If you haven’t walked by, you must go peek in the windows–there are walls going up, and we have a possible finish date of……well, let’s just say “spring.” And yes, they have opened up the back to put in huge windows that overlook the bridge!
Our thanks to everyone, all the 100s and even1000s who helped make the Wetumpka Wildlife Arts Festival the best and bring so much attention to our lovely town. KUDOS to all of us!!
