Description

This is part of my 1960s/1970s album cover series, which was inspired by my love of the music of this era, the connect between art and music, and the iconic faces on these covers, which begged to be painted. For this piece, I contacted Jimmy Watchtel, the photographer and album cover designer, for permission. I learned about the day he snapped his famous photo of Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham for this album cover. Stevie was not too happy about posing in the nude, but acquiesced. With this painting, I’ve aimed to capture the mood that Jimmy set out to convey.
