Description
This is part of my 1960s/1970s album cover series, which was inspired by my love of the music of this era, the connect between art and music, and the iconic faces on these covers, which begged to be painted. For this piece, I contacted Henry Diltz, the official Woodstock photographer, for permission. I learned about the day he snapped his famous photo of James Taylor for this album cover. James was very serious and quiet that day, and Henry captured this mood well. With this painting, I’ve aimed to do the same.
