Anita Winter grew up in Northern California and has lived in Alabama for almost 30 years. She is a prolific artist and enjoys painting florals, figurative and landscapes in oil and acrylic mediums. In 2021, she began selling her art at local art walks, on Etsy and her website at https://Trutogs.com .
Her love for painting and her deep faith is what drives her to work hard. Her efforts to grow the family business was really inspired by a trip she and her husband made in the fall of 2015. During their visit to University of the Nations in Kona, HI, God placed on their heart a desire to help fund the young people participating in the Youth with a Mission (YWAM) program, which included their two oldest boys.
There were over 600 students enrolled, but many were underfunded. Realizing their ability to support missions was limited by their personal earnings, the idea of building a business with the sole purpose of applying the profits to fund missions was conceived, and their business Trutogs.com was born. Anita and her husband wanted to provide unique handmade products from local and global artisans to help fund as many missionaries as possible. This is where many of Anita’s talents, such as painting, came into play. Her motivation was to grow the kingdom of God and to witness to the world of His great love and forgiveness.
Each purchase you make not only helps to fund missionaries so that they can share the love of Christ but also supports local and global artisans through Fair Trade Certified companies, which help provide safe work environments, fair wages and protection from human trafficking. They currently fund five missionaries and hope to fund many more in the future.
