2026 Schedule
Everyone was encouraged to stay as long as they’d like or come-and-go as you please. We had set times for guest speakers, but otherwise, the art organizations had booths set up for the entirety of the event.
Here was this year’s 2026 schedule:
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM
Coffee and meet the art representatives at their booths
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
“Art in the Modern Era: Historical perspective, making sense of AI, and artists’ place in modern society.” Join Speaker Steve Barrington as he discusses how the modern artist can make sense of AI now that it’s here to stay: its strengths, limitations, history, and controversies.
12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
Visit art organization booths or grab some lunch.
1:00 PM - 2:00 PM
Discussion Panel: “Art as a Profession: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.” Making art is one thing; selling it is another. Join our guest speakers as they discuss the roles of “originality”, reference photos and AI, and social media for professional artist. Followed by a Q&A session.
Guest Speakers:
- Rebecca Yeager, Executive Director of the Alabama Arts Alliance;
- Tony Veronese, Professor of 2D and Digital Art at Auburn University of Montgomery;

Meet the Speakers
11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
"Art in the Modern Era: Historical perspective, making sense of AI, and artists’ place in modern society."
Dr. Steve Barrington
His subjects are flavored by his passions: figurative work, shaped by his orthopedic surgery training and career; landscapes, shaped by his love of hunting and God’s beautiful creation; portrait work, celebrating relationships and individual beauty.
Drawing from many different techniques and influences, his work is impressionistic, realistic, abstract, and sometimes experimental. His work explores beauty in the mundane, color in the subtlety of the drab, and abstract shapes of light and shadow. His goal is to share his personal perspective, and engage the viewer in a personal and emotional way.
1:00 pM - 2:00 pM
"Art as a Profession: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly."
