SUMMARY:Tuesdays with Kelly
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our monthly lunch and learn program from noon until 1:00pm at The Kelly! This month\, we will have two speakers from Gallery 905. Gallery 905 is a gallery that opened in 2015 under ArtsRevive that aims to build community through art in Selma\, AL. One of the speakers is the Executive Director of Gallery 905\, Sarah Wagoner\, who will talk about her experience working at the gallery and current events. The other speaker will be the talented artist\, Stacey Edwards\, who currently has a solo show up at Gallery 905! She will talk about her current solo show\, “Alabama Saints” and her experience as a local artist in South Alabama. If you would like to know more about speakers\, there is some information about them below. \n  \nBring your lunch\, and The Kelly will provide drinks and a dessert.  We hope to see you there! \n  \n \nSarah Wagoner is the Executive Director of Gallery 905. A 1988 Auburn graduate in education\, she is a self-taught Black Belt artist. Her father bought her first paints and told her she could paint flowers. In high school\, Sarah began a calligraphy side-hustle. Since 2016\, Sarah has dabbled in clay\, watercolor\, oil\, and acrylic. Sarah’s work is inspired by faith and nature. Sarah also enjoys being around her family with a candle lit nearby. You can find both Sarah and her artistic work at Gallery 905! \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n \nStacey Edwards is a South Alabama painter\, mixed media artist\, and art educator with over 15 years of experience. During her 13 years in art education at Greenville High School\, her students earned state and national recognition\, including Congressional Art Awards and honors from the Alabama State council on the Arts. Since leaving Greenville High School\, she has continued to be involved with art education through the Alabama State Council on the Arts collaborative Artist Program where she is teaching in rural and central schools in Alabama.
